Top Ten Books on My Winter TBR List

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is our winter To Be Read List.

All of these books are on my hold list from the library.

These books have been on my TBR list for a while:

  1. Gilead by Marilynne Robinson
  2. The Idiot by Elif Batuman
  3. We Were the Lucky Ones by Georgia Hunter

New and fun:

  1. Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
  2. The Greatest Love Story Ever Told by Megan Mullaly and Nick Offerman

Showing up on a lot of 2018 best-of lists:

  1. Red Clocks by Leni Zumas
  2. Warlight by Michael Ondaatje
  3. A Place for Us by Fatima Farheen Mirza

And an older book by an author I’ve been wanting to read (she has a new one out but I’ll start from the beginning):

  1. In the Woods by Tana French, a mystery writer I’m always hearing great things about.

And I’ve committed to one more ARC this winter:

  1. The Dreamers by Karen Thompson Walker, a book about a mysterious illness that puts people into perpetual sleep. It was endorsed by the author of Station Eleven, so I thought it might be worth a try.

What have you read on this list?  And what’s on your TBR list?

The only ones I’ve read are Gilead and In the Woods, but I can strongly recommend both of them.

I started reading Warlight but couldnt finish it before it was due back at the library. So frustrating….

I’ve not read any of these! I’ve been meaning to read more Marilynne Robinson (I’ve only read Housekeeping waaay back in college). And I want to get to Spinning Silver at some point. Maybe over Christmas vacation, I could use a fun read.

I am a Nick Offerman fan (rewatching Parks and Rec) and so I’ll be interested in hearing about this book. Gilead scares me—I found Housekeeping so oppressive despite the marvelous writing. I’ve heard such good things about We Were the Lucky Ones.

    Happy reading.
