This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, is ten books on our Spring TBR list.
I have three ARCs, and I’m particularly excited to read Sally Rooney:

The Women’s Prize longlist was announced March 4, and I’ve only read two of the books (American Marriage and Circe, both highly recommended). I’m bummed that A Place for Us and The Great Believers didn’t make the list, though I can’t be sure they were eligible (books must be published in the UK between April 1 and March 31). I’ve added these books from the longlist to my TBR:
- My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite
- Freshwater by Akwaeke Emezi
- Ordinary People by Diana Evans
- Number One Chinese Restaurant by Lillian Li
- Lost Children Archive by Valeria Luiselli
- Ghost Wall by Sarah Moss
And I was reading about the Stella Prize, which is for books written by Australian women, and I know nothing about any of the authors. Thoughts?
- Bluebottle by Belinda Castles
- Man Out of Time by Stephanie Bishop
- The Bridge by Enza Gadolfo
- Too Much Lip by Melissa Lucashenko
- The Arsonist by Chloe Hooper
I don’t really think I’ll get through all this in the spring. But I do love a good award longlist, and my favorite thing about spring is that I can spend my lunch hour reading in the sun.

I was fortunate to get it from NetGalley, otherwise I don’t know too much about it. It’s got kind of a Handmaid’s Tale vibe. Happy spring reading!
I need to get to The Friend. I may read it during The Dog Days of Summer event this summer. I also hope to read My Sister the Serial Killer soon.

I loved The Left Hand of Darkness! It was weird at first but it was one of those books that I wanted to start over as soon as I finished to reread the beginning
I’m so glad to hear you loved it. I’ve struggled with LeGuin in the past. It’s good to know it might take a little time to get into it.
Yeah at first I didn’t know what was going on. It was such a weird story line and I felt like I got thrown in. But then once I got settled in, it went much more smoothly
I’m really curious about The Farm, too. I hope you love your ARC of it, and I’m only a little jealous of you. 😉

I am trying hard not to add many books right now so avoiding reading news about prizes (they become too tempting)
I agree, there’s way too much I want to read. I tend to focus on the Women’s Prize list more than the others, it seems to suit my reading style the best – I know you read most of the Booker nominees. Happy spring reading!

My Sister the Serial Killer sounds brilliant. Really want to read that one!
I’m just about to finish another Sally Rooney title, Conversations With Friends, so will be interested to hear what you think of Normal People.
I’ve heard so much about both of Rooney’s books. I picked this one because I got it from NetGalley, but I know people love Conversations with Friends. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on that one.

I had Serial Killer on hold too – but it’s on sale right now on Amazon so I couldn’t resist. I’m really looking forward to both of those books.

That one sounds like a fun read, and I’m always intrigued by books from the perspective of characters that are on the spectrum. And the author herself is on the spectrum so that makes it more authentic. Thanks for visiting!
I’d like to read My Sister the Serial Killer as well. It’s getting so much praise and I’m curious about it. Same with Freshwater.
I’m really looking forward to reading My Sister. Freshwater sounds like it might be a tough read, but of course that’s not a bad thing. I’ll let you know when I get to them.
I LOVED The Poet X and reviewed it this week. Not to be missed. And, I really like the cover of The Farm. Hoping to get to Normal People very soon. Too Much Lip is a great title and the book sounds good, too.

The only book from The Woman’s Prize list I’ve read is Milkman. It takes some effort but was definitely worth it. I’ve heard good things about Sally Rooney too, so I’ll probably read that one.
Milkman sounds really interesting and it’s written in a very unusual style. I feel like I don’t have the bandwidth for it right now, but I’m glad to hear it was worth the read! I should definitely give it a go.
I was glad I finally read The Left Hand of Darkness. I couldn’t say it was my favorite book by UKL, but everything by her is worth reading in my opinion.
In the midst of a move, I’ve been doing a lot of rereading to try to decide what to keep. I can’t pay attention to more current books though it looks like there are a lot of intriguing new ones out there.
I actually haven’t read anything by LeGuin, though I’ve started her a few times. I definitely want to read this one. I can understand you’ve got a lot on your plate right now, plus you don’t want to buy books before a move. Good luck with everything!

The only one of these I’ve read is THE LIBRARY BOOK. It was interesting, but not quite as interesting as I wanted it to be. I hope you love it, though, as well as all these others.

I just started The Library Book and I’m enjoying it – but my husband is from LA and I’ve been to that library so it’s more interesting to me. The idea of all those books burning is devastating.
